The AirLetter community is being built for language practice, cultural discovery and genuine global friendship. These principles guide the experience we’re developing.

Language and friendship first.

Approach every exchange with curiosity and respect. This is a pen pal and language-learning community. Dating requests, unwanted flirting and romantic pressure don’t belong here.

Let people choose.

A first introduction should give someone room to decide. Our Handshake design keeps new contacts in Requests and disables media attachments until the recipient explicitly accepts.

Respect a declined request, a slow reply or someone’s decision to end a conversation. Never pressure another person to share photographs, voice notes or personal contact details.

Be patient across cultures.

People express themselves differently, especially in a language they’re learning. Ask before correcting, explain gently and make room for mistakes. Challenge an idea respectfully; don’t attack the person sharing it.

Keep yourself and others safe.

Keep financial details and sensitive personal information private. Never send money to someone you’ve met through a pen pal exchange. Avoid sharing your home address, passwords or identity documents.

Harassment, hate, unsolicited sexual content, scams and commercial solicitation have no place in this community.

Boundaries should be easy to enforce.

We’re designing one-tap block and report controls for profiles and conversations. Blocking is intended to sever communication in both directions. Inbox Shield is designed to give members control over age-gap, gender and mutual-language preferences.

Before launch.

The finished service will need published terms, privacy information and verified support and reporting channels. Those details will be added before people are invited to use it. This page describes community principles rather than a complete legal policy.
