AirLetter is in development. This guide explains its safety controls and practical steps for safer pen pal exchange. It is not an emergency response service.

If you are in immediate danger

Contact your local emergency services. Do not wait for an app report or email response.

Block or report

Tap the shield on the relevant profile or conversation. Block ends contact and is designed to hide both members from each other. Report & Block also sends the reason, optional details and related conversation information to the restricted safety queue. Describe what happened without including unnecessary sensitive information.

First contact: the Handshake

An introduction goes to Requests. You decide whether to accept or decline. Attachments stay disabled until explicit acceptance; the first beta is text-only.

Choose who can reach you

Inbox Shield preferences allow control over age differences, gender, mutual-language compatibility and region filtering. Keep early communication inside the app and adjust preferences when needed.

Protect your private information

Do not share passwords, sign-in codes, home addresses, financial details or identity documents. Never send money, gift cards or cryptocurrency to someone you meet through the service.

Recognise warning signs

Be cautious about urgency, investment offers, requests to move immediately to another platform, pressure to send images and attempts to reopen contact after a decline.

What follows a report

Reports and relevant context can be reviewed for violations. Outcomes may include a warning, restrictions or account removal. Response times vary; there is no guaranteed response time. A confirmed external support and appeal contact will be added before public account access.
